Off to the races next year? Well Olly Murs and Jess Glynne definitely are, the two are heading for a day York Racecourse next summer.
They’re billed on different days Olly Murs will be heading northwards up to York on the 1st July and Jess Glynne on the 28th July.
The former X-Factor contestant turned superstar will be performing his latest LP 24 HRS. For Murs’ fifth studio effort, it features a heartbroken Murs pining from the end of a long term relationship. Luckily, he’s seemed to capitalise on this misery, with a rather accomplished, and polished record, including ‘You Don’t Know Love’ and ‘Grow Up’. Moody. Anyway, you’ll be well familiar with Murs’ fifth studio effort by then don’t worry, as it descends upon stockings this Christmas.
On the event he said:
“I’m really looking forward to playing York Racecourse next summer, it’ll be one of the first chances I’ll get to play tracks from 24 HRS in the sunshine so will be a special show to share with my fans. I love a day out at the races too so can’t wait to get in the crowd during the day to place a cheeky bet…”
Talking of bets, another safe bet for a guaranteed spectacular show is Jess Glynne. No doubt University of York students will be overjoyed at the ‘Hold My Hand’ artists’ announcement, as she pulled out of the summer ball a few years ago, only to be replaced by punk duo, Slaves.
Glynne of course rose to the public’s consciousness as the vocalist on Clean Bandit’s huge ‘Rather be’, although now is firmly a star in her own right. With Glynne since reaching a number one double platinum debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, she certainly should no longer be crying.
On the event, Glynne had to say:
“It’s going to be great fun playing York Racecourse on 28th July. I love outdoor shows and can’t wait to share the summer evening with my fans!”
