In the Summer Term 'Edible University' was launched on campus and has proved a huge success.

The project, set up by former YUSU Environment and Ethics officer Phoebe Cullingworth, aims to to install beds around campus where fruit, vegetables and herbs will be grown to be picked and taken home by passers-by.

Students and staff alike have turned out to help weed, plant and tend the beds, which are now situated in all the university's colleges.

The Yorker's photography Emily Jasmin Decoussemaeker took some pictures of the various beds around campus to show the progress so far.
